Secured a district park: After being one of the only districts without a library, community center or park, we finally started seeing more neighborhood investment. Mariposa Park will be a community hub we can all call our own.
Get It Right Bill: challenging the way we approach procurement in metro in order to prevent wage theft and unsafe construction sites. While the state did bulldoze our legislation, we were able to expand the procurement board with important voices.
Pushed for minority and community representations on boards and commission: This included a Latino person on the fair board and passing legislation to rework the way we appoint board and commission members by transferring the responsibility to council as appose to the Mayor’s office. This means that the council members, who know the voices on the ground, can nominate community members to serve.
Distributed 7 little libraries throughout the district. Three at bus stops.
CARES Act and ARP Committee: Served on the body that helped distribute million in items that included but are not limited to Right to council, immigration legal services, childcare, utility relief, rent relief, small business relief, etc
